What's That Smell?

What do roses really smell like? 🕺🏼🌹💩

What’s That Smell?

“What did you do this week?”

It’s a question we ask ourselves constantly.

I’ve been in “do, do, do” mode lately. Feeling overwhelmed by how much needs to get done.

I believe it’s a trap we all fall in to.

Don’t get me wrong — I love a good weekly priority list (i’ve got one). But the more obsessed I get with to-dos and goals, the harder it is to stop and reflect.

Cliché as it sounds, ask yourself:

Where were you this time last year?

I was taking a rare “rest day,” walking through Fort Mason in San Francisco. And for the first time in a long time, things felt… familiar. I’d been in the city for over a year. That’s crazy to think, this time last year I was telling everyone how excited I was to be a “Founder” (which quickly looses its allure), and growing a cold plunge club. Thinking it would be cool to perhaps do an event for the plunge club.

And now? I’ve done so much in 12 months — yet I never really paused to even recognize it.

She a beaut, ain’t she?

You might expect me to now list all my wins here (which is fair).

Surprise surprise.

Nope.

I’m not going to

Instead, I’ll leave you with two questions to ask yourself:

  1. Where was I this time last year?

  2. Am I happy with the person I am now?

If the answer to number 2 is yes. Then you can chill out for a second and be proud of yourself. You deserve it.

If the answer to number 2 is no, that’s ok. The best time to change that is today.

Just don’t forget to pick your head up every now and then. The to-do list will still be there.

But the roses? They won’t wait.

Love ya,

Jared

Things Worth Clicking

A few gems I found on the internet this week - no digging required

  • Ben Levy makes a rare public appearance on the my first million podcast. Where he shares how he creates “luck”

  • How to make incredible thumbnails using AI

  • I ran a San Francisco Biathlon. Not to be confused with a traditional biathlon. This was a ~ rebrand ~
