The Only Plan You Need
I hope you’re hungry because you’re about to get the sauce.
How writing this newsletter normally works:
I have an idea that fires me up.
Write down the title and how I want to make the reader (you) feel
Build the framework to tell a story around that feeling, step away for 2 hours, and then come back to fill in the rest.
Today? Not doing that.
Today I’m about to Steph Curry this bad boy and throw up a 40 ft three pointer from so far back my teammates are going to yell “no!” under their breath. Until they see that sweet swishhh.
I’m writing this bad boy for you in one shot, from deep.

I’d like to think my form looks like the guy on the right. But I’m almost certainly the left.
Here’s my Master Plan in 120 seconds or less (unless you’re a slow reader).
I love structure, but once I decided to jump ship and do things my own way, I started to realize there's a lot of options. Too many. I had to start choosing. Otherwise, I was going to quickly fall into the trap of trying to do too many things at once. (I love shiny objects).

How do I know what to say yes to and what to say no to? I ask if it follows the plan.
No, not the plan that somebody else tells me for how to do things the way everyone else does. I'm talking about the plan that I created for myself. For how I want to live life my way.
In the first four months of figuring out what the heck I'm going to do with my life, I created this master plan to make sure that everything I say yes to falls into these buckets. I had to keep it stupid simple or else my engineer brain would over complicate it.
Here it is.
The Plan: push the most authentic and best version of myself into the world. Share that using my unfair advantages: video and written content.
Use that leverage to be unreasonably helpful to others. Create, build, and support businesses that I love. Built communities and spaces that I wish existed. Do it with awesome people. Inspire others to do the same.

That’s it. I don’t have a 5 or 10 year career plan. I just have one big plan.
Your turn. Make your own plan. Frame it around what fires you up and what’s important to you. Build your life around those 5-6 things. Work backwards from there.
It’ll make it a hell of a lot easier to know what to say yes and what to say no to.
Keep it simple and send it back to me. I want to see it.
Love Ya,
Jared

A few gems I found on the internet this week - no digging required
Oura and Dexcom announced the first version on their strategic partnership. I’m bullish on the connection of sleep and glucose. I’m excited to see how this partnership grows. I have a hunch there might be a bigger play going on here from Dexcom…

Gentlemen’s Agreement 🤝🏻
I need a favor from you. Every week I spend several hours crafting this email to give you entirely for free. Banger, after banger. Except it’s not actually free.
I love doing this, but I also love seeing this grow (You might say I’m flawed. But you’re not my therapist). To keep this free it would mean the world to me, and my ego, if you shared this with just 1 person who you think would also like this.
