Live a Rich Life
Spoiler Alert - $10M wont make you happy
Live a Rich Life.
Last week I broke down how I would live my life differently if I had $10 million in cash….
I wrote out a list out. I was unapologetic. It was a fun exercise for me. I went as lavish as possible.
So, now what?
Now it’s time to see how much that life actually costs.
Here’s everything below.

Lifestyle Costs. Went big here…

A rich lifestyle has high monthly expenses
Time to add it up and divide by 12
Annual cost of a Rich Life | $560,600 |
Monthly Cost of a Rich Life | $46,716 |
In total: a filthy rich lifestyle would cost me about 50k/mo or 600K per year.
Let me do some quick math…
That means if I had $10 million dollars, I could fuck off for at least 15 years (16.66 to be exact)
I would consider this “fuck you” money.
What did I learn?
It was motivating to get clear on what I wanted and know I could build a path out for it.
I was probably drastically over estimating how much this life would cost. That’s ok, because if I hit half of that I bet I’d still be living a pretty dope life.
Reality Check:
A significant majority of these things are items and experiences. Not many are tied to actual relationships. After meeting a lot of wealthy people I see a repeating theme.
They’re not always that happy.
Why is that?
They typically don’t prioritize their relationships and their family as the accrue and attain wealth. They are reaching for that next level of wealth. They aren’t happy with what they have.
I could sit here and say that once I hit 50k/mo in income I’d be happy. But we both know that’s complete bull-shit.
Here’s why: none of the relationships on here have a price tag, so they’re not included on this.

Invert. Always Invert
Inversion
Let’s flip this on it’s head and ask: what on this list can I do or already am able to do with my current lifestyle?
Lifestyle:
Weight 180lbs, composed of muscle and maintain good cardio vascular endurance
Yoga 1x/wk
Ski in the winter
What does a day look like:
Live in a major city such as San Francisco
Wake up at 5:30 am
Working on a product that improves others’ lives
In bed by 10:30pm (for now)
Who do I spend time with:
I see my mom 2x/yr, I see my dad 1x/yr. I see my sister and brother at least 1x/yr.
I have a close network of peers that I come to for guidances on personal and business problems.
Colleagues that exist in tech, venture, and health.
Friends that are inspirational and supportive
Meet successful and inspiring individuals that are ahead of me (cold emails work 👀)
Mentor and support people that are up and coming
What’s Important to me
Hosting events. This only really costs ~$100/event and some time. I already do this and I love it.
Creativity and Fun
Create and share fun photos and video projects.
Blog about my life and the journey I’m on.
Nice Things and Travel
Development events and masterminds. I went to IP2 this year. It was awesome
Live music events in cool areas. I’m going to CDMX this fall for a friends birthday. Can do this too.
Hike mountains in California, Africa
Hike in Marin and California coast line.

I did this hike 2 weeks ago. It’s 20 minutes from my house
What’s the point of this?
For me this was a way to do two things. Work backwards from what “there” looks like and break down what that could cost. That also could help me realize what “there” is once I’m there. So I can stop worrying about money and focus on more impactful things.
Most importantly. I just listed off 21 things that I already do in my life right now. Not all these things have a price tag on them and shouldn’t.
The point is, I already have a rich life.
It just takes a moment to notice it.
Lova Ya,
Jared

On the slim chance you actually got here. I’d like to personally thank you for reading this whole thing. I spend a lot of time on this. If you made it to the end that likely means you like my newsletter.
If you do, a friend of yours likely will too. So can you do me a solid and get them hooked on this too?
It would mean the world to me, and my ego, if you shared this with just 1 person who you think would also like this.
